Founded in 2013, The Girl is an online magazine written by a collective of female writers. We’re here to talk about music from a girl’s perspective, along with that all-important fashion that goes with it. A place where fashion and music collide, we cover everything from the best in front-woman fashion to festival street style, the most on-trend bands to a pop star’s latest fashion line.
Our girl writers all have different personalities, tastes and points of view, but we share an obsession with fashion + music. Follow us to see who we’re listening to and what we’re wearing, as well as a load of fashion + music related news, reviews and inspiration!
We hope you enjoy… and if you’d like to get in touch, visit our contact page or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Meet the girls:
The Girl editor Holly is a fashion writer and stylist living in London. When she’s not writing on the latest sartorial happenings or styling for fashion brands, Holly spends most of her spare time trawling the web for new music and catching her favourite indie acts at gigs and festivals. @hollyswayne
Based in East London, Miranda likes being a writer because it gives her a legitimate reason to be nosy. She also likes making extensive Spotify playlists to soundtrack dream holidays, swimming in secret lakes and and watching freight trains trundle past with a tinny in hand.
Hannah is a fashion and lifestyle writer. She loves travel and is slowly becoming an expert in the best places to shop internationally, though her spiritual home is in the charity shops of East London. Obsessive about fashion and music, her two greatest loves are The Smiths and Dr Marten boots.
Jamila is a writer living in Brixton. She’s obsessed with all things beauty, which she writes about on her own blog, Blush. Other loves include wandering around the Tate, Hip Hop, Jameson and buying too many magazines like V,W,10 and Interview.
Alex works for a film and literary agency by day and vents her passion for music by writing on the side. A singer, cyclist and dedicated cake-baker she’s happiest when listening to an eclectic mix from the Velvet Underground, Tanya Stevens, Wu-Tang and Fleetwood Mac to newer sounds shared by friends. Her fashion icons are Patti Smith, Rihanna and David Bowie. Now and then she dreams of running away to become a pro surfer, but usually that feeling passes.
